A fluoroscopy uses X-rays to obtain real-time moving images of the interior body. A continuous X-ray beam is passed through the body part being imaged. Fluoroscopy can be used to diagnose health problems.
Preparing for a fluoroscopy x-ray
Preparation will depend on the type of fluoroscopy procedure and your provider will let you know of any special requirements such as avoiding certain medications or fasting (except for water) for a time period before this imaging procedure.
If you’re pregnant or there is a chance you may be pregnant, inform your provider as radiation from fluoroscopy can be harmful to your unborn child.
