Conquer: A Support Group for Adults with Cancer

KidsCan! is a program designed to support children 4-12 who have a parent or significant caregiver with a diagnosis of cancer. It provides opportunities for kids to express their feelings with a trained facilitator through various activities in a safe and protective environment. Adults will be offered a program facilitated by a group leader. Call 636.916.9974 for additional information. This program is supported by the Holt Foundation.

This American Cancer Society program is designed to help women undergoing cancer treatment learn to cope with the appearance-related side effects of treatment and to regain a sense of self confidence and control over their lives. Call 314-286-8176 for date availability and to register.

A support group for men diagnosed with prostate cancer at any stage. This American Cancer Society program includes education sessions and support for participants. Spouses and significant others are welcome.


Patient Services

Counseling Services -- 314.747.5587

A social worker is on staff at the Siteman Cancer Center and is available during office hours to our patients and their caregivers to offer emotional support and access to additional support services in the community. 

The Siteman Counseling Service has licensed psychologists and other psychological providers.  They offer different types of counseling services to Siteman Cancer Center patients and their family members.  

LIVESTRONG -- 636.928.1928

The Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital partners with local YMCAs to offer the LIVESTRONG program to our patients and their immediate family members. The LIVESTRONG program is a free, 12-week exercise program for people of all physical ability levels. Classes meet at local YMCAs twice a week for 75 minutes of supervised and trainer-guided exercise.

Massage Therapy -- 636.916.9920

A licensed massage therapist provides free chair massages to patients and caregivers to help them relax, improve circulation, and relieve stress and pain.

Nutritional Therapy -- 636.916.9972 

A registered dietitian (RD) is on staff to answer questions about the special nutritional needs of cancer patients. 

Transportation Assistance -- 877.227.1618 or 636.916.9974 

This is a need-based service provided only to patients having a hardship with transportation to cancer treatments. To arrange transportation to the Siteman Cancer Center or for more information, call the American Cancer Society at 877.227.1618, or the Siteman Cancer Center social worker at 636.916.9974.
