I want to thank the staff in the ER room. I was in with my 15-year-old son on Tuesday evening the 3rd of November and, from the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptional... even in the parking lot, a staff member leaving for the night asked if we needed help getting in. Upon entering, from the check-in desk to the medical staff to the X-ray techs, the staff couldn't have been any better to us if they tried! I just thought with all the negative input people are ready to dish out, that it would be nice to hear some positive feedback. Thanks again for treating my son so quickly. By the way, he had a badly broken collarbone, and we are going to be seeing an orthopedic surgeon sometime today.
Sincerely,
Lisa W.

Ms. Skyles,
I want to express my gratitude to you and your team of nurses and staff for the exceptional care they have given to my residents when they come to the hospital. I hear over and over from my residents, how well they were cared for, and I have been impressed first-hand when talking to the nurses.
Thank you for providing and insuring the best care and so much compassion.

My comments are for Ms. Annie Cammerata (Cath Lab Manager) regarding Yvette Engler (Holding Room Nurse) and Renee Brinkmann ("the chest shaver").
My point in all of this is to thank everyone involved in last week's cardioversion procedure. However, both Yvette and Renee made my "squeamishness" prior to going in very comforting to both me and my wife -- she's the one who had to wait through it all -- although the entire procedure was completed within just a few minutes.
I have sent a thank you card expressing these thoughts, but I wanted to specifically mention Yvette and Renee for their good humor as well as for their professionalism -- kudos to both.
Thanks again.
Cordially, Steve

The family of Donald J. Wiese thanks ER nurses Linda and Mary for caring for our dad as if he were their own. We don't know enough lovely accolades to adequately thank them for their care and concern last night, July 31, 2007. Take care of your nurses! These two are angels!

The Maddux family would like to thank the staff of the Transitional Living Center for all the kindness, compassion and care given to my Dad, Howard Maddux, in his final days. You were especially kind to my Mom and whole family, and made such a sad time a comfortable time. These words cannot express our thanks and gratitude for your kindness and care. A special thanks to Katy Moore for her support and care of my Dad and family.
Thank you so much.

I just wanted to express my thanks to nurse Sara Banze in Labor & Delivery. I was at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital in early February having my second son, and Sara was an awesome nurse. She was in my room probably every 10-15 minutes checking on me; I never had to call for her once. She made my experience at the Hospital very relaxing and pleasurable. She did an excellent job, and I couldn't have asked for anything better. I hope that she is still working there when we decide to have another child. Thank you so much, Sara!

I was supremely impressed with Tanya Manning from the Health Information Management Department. I needed to retrieve some old records rather urgently, and Tanya was very accommodating. I felt Tanya's smile through the phone. Thanks, Tanya!

I wanted to let you know how awesome Mary Stamburski and Anthony Fortner were. They were my catering associates during a recent hospital stay. I was on a clear liquid diet for four days, and they went out of their way to help me. When I was finally able to have regular food, Anthony brought me a piece of cheesecake that he had personally decorated -- I felt like I was at a fancy restaurant. They were both kind, gentle and good-spirited. They never minded having to run back to the kitchen to get me something. It was a five-star experience.

On May 22, 2006, I suffered a subarachnoid hematoma. I was taken to Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital. I was moving back to Missouri from New Jersey that day. I was with my daughter and father. It was a very tough day, and this medical emergency was not making the day any easier. I was examined by Dr. Poggemeier; he was polite and made me feel at ease. After hearing the words "brain aneurism," I was becoming a bit nervous and scared.
I was scared until I met two nurses, Barb and Linda. As a former police officer, I often was in situations that most people would find awkward and sometimes scary. But this was very different, and it was something that I had no control over. These nurses made me feel a bit more relaxed -- and not medicated relaxed. But they knew how to make me feel like it wasn't time to make out a will.
I was feeling like maybe it was my time. I didn't have my wife at my side; she was still in New Jersey finishing up her job and final moving issues. My son was with her, and, as to not scare my daughter, we had family take her to my sister-in-law's house.
All I can say is thank you for having nurses like Barb and Linda, and doctors like Dr. Poggemeier. My life was very different after surgery. I needed some rehab and I did suffer memory loss, but I will never forget Nurses Barb and Linda.

I want to say what a great nurse Linda in the ER is! She took care of me on the afternoon of December 17. She made me feel smart, capable and funny; no small feat since I was in the midst of a panic attack. She is a caring and joyful person to be around. Thanks, Linda, for the part you played in helping me Saturday.
Thanks.

Thank you to the nurses and doctors at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital Urgent Care Center. I called them about five minutes before they were closing and told them my situation. They gave me clear and concise directions. I arrived, and the nurse was waiting at the door for me. My two little kids and I ran across the parking lot and in the door.
Since I showed up right at closing, I assumed that I would just get rushed through by an unhappy medical team. Instead, they were nothing but nice to me, not to mention the top-quality service. Unfortunately, I don't remember their names, but all of those ladies were spectacular. Not only were they good to me, but they were right there for my kids also. One of the nurses watched them when I went back to get X-rays. When I came back to where my kids were, they were all smiles. They had suckers and all kinds of fun trinkets. I walked out of there all fixed up and with happy kids. Thank you, Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital Urgent Care Center, for everything!

I visited your Emergency Room recently. I was having abdominal pain, yet I passed two other emergency rooms to get to Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital. I ended up having an appendicitis and needed surgery within hours of my arrival. I was seen in the ER by Dr. Gardner, who I was very pleased with. My nurse Joan was excellent. There are no words to explain how wonderful she was. People like this make an unpleasant situation much, MUCH more bearable. My surgeon Dr. Daniel Bergmann was excellent! Even Dr. Baden from anesthesia was wonderful. This was my first surgery (and I was terrified), and he made me feel comfortable by explaining everything ahead of time and while he was putting me out. I definitely made the right decision in driving the extra miles to make it to Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital. Unfortunately, within the last six months my family has needed hospital services twice. Both times we have chosen Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, and both times you have exceeded all expectations and excelled on every level of care/services possible.
I work in a physician's office now and have for the last eight years; prior to that I worked for a hospital. I know what is involved in patient care, and I just wanted to let you know that it is clear that Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is making strides in caring for their patients and making sure that all of their needs are being met in a cheerful, caring way.

I just wanted to say thank you from my entire family for the great treatment my dad received while he was a patient at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital. The staff on the second floor is outstanding. My dad was very ill for quite a while, his stays at the Hospital were frequent and long, we eventually opted for hospice, and he did pass away in July of this year. My mom wanted to let you know how grateful she is and just what a wonderful staff you have. Please let your people know they are greatly appreciated for the kindness and the outstanding patient care they provide.
Sincerely,
Joanne, St. Charles, Missouri
I recently had the opportunity to visit the Emergency Room at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital and to spend 24 hours in your ICU. I simply can't say enough about how well I was treated. Everyone, from the food service personnel, the technicians, the ER and ICU nurses to the doctors, treated me with patience, respect and good humor. I was experiencing atrial flutter, a frightening experience to say the least, but I never doubted that I was in the very best of hands.
Your people have incredibly difficult and demanding jobs, yet they manage chaos gracefully and do it with such compassion and good humor that they make it look easy. I can't imagine having received better treatment, but even more profound is my thanks for everything that was done to put me at ease and make me comfortable.
I sincerely hope I never need to spend another night in the ICU of any hospital but if that is in the cards for me, may God grant me the wish that I'll end up back at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital.
Thank You so much.

As relatively new arrivals to the area, my husband and I both chose doctors at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital. Less than a month after moving here, I had to be hospitalized and my experience with BJSPH was excellent. If you have to be hospitalized, BJSPH is indeed the best! My new doctor (Dr. Susan Reeds) and your staff were outstanding all around.
