The Breast Health & Women's Center is a comfortable and private setting for women receiving digital mammography, bone density testing or ultrasound services. Patients can go directly to the Breast Health & Women's Center for their appointments. Female volunteers greet patients, and assist with paperwork and the gowning process for greater patient privacy and a more efficient registration process.

Because the Breast Health & Women's Center focuses on wellness and prevention, videotaped instruction of breast self-examination is an integral part of every mammography screening. The women's health information library, also in the Breast Health & Women's Center, provides information on wellness, prevention and topics important for healthy living.

The Center is fully accredited by the Food and Drug Administration and the American College of Radiology. Procedures are read by board-certified radiologists from the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM). Patients' physicians receive a written report for all screening mammograms. To ensure patient comfort, all mammogram and ultrasound technicians in the Breast Health & Women's Center are female.

Self-referrals are accepted for screening mammograms given the patient has a physician to receive the report. Day, evening and weekend appointments are offered.
