May I apply for as many jobs as I want?
You are welcome to apply for any and all jobs in which you are interested. However, be certain you meet all the skill and education requirements for the job, and that you have a sincere interest in each position.
How can a current employee apply for a different job?
Current BJC HealthCare employees can apply for a transfer. Employees must work for 12 months in their current position and demonstrate successful performance before applying for transfer.
How can I learn the status of my application?
Sign on to the employment site and check the status of your application for each position for which you applied.
How long will it take before I get hired?
There is not a precise answer to this question. The recruitment staff at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital processes a large volume of job applications and employee transfer applications each day. Processing time for individual applications can vary due to the volume of qualified candidates for each position, screening and interview schedules, access to employment verification information and timing of orientation schedules. We strive to hire only the best and most highly qualified candidates for each of our openings, so not everyone who applies will receive an interview or job offer. If you are selected as a candidate for employment, please read our section regarding The Interview Process.
May I speak with someone?
If you have a question that cannot be answered by information on this site, please call the Human Resources department at 636.916.9405. If an HR representative cannot answer your question, your call will be routed to a recruiter or another staff member who can assist you.
What kind of orientation can a new employee expect?
All new employees at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital attend New Employee Orientation, which takes place twice a month, followed by a department-specific orientation.
Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and patient care technicians attend a third orientation, Nursing Orientation. Nursing Orientation is offered monthly and consists of two consecutive days of training following a New Employee Orientation session.
Call 636.916.9409 if you have questions about this information.
