Suite Beginnings
Suite Beginnings provides moms-to-be with a private childbirth setting that is family focused and emotionally supportive. Each suite offers labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum, all in the privacy of one comfortable room that features a whirlpool Jacuzzi and a pull-out bed for Dad or a guest.
A surgical suite is on the same floor in the event a Caesarean section is required, and pediatricians, obstetricians and anesthesiologists are on staff 24 hours each day.
Our Level 2 nursery provides care to newborns, and -- in the rare event your baby requires more intensive care -- special transportation to St. Louis Children's Hospital can be arranged at a moment's notice.
Education
Educational programs for childbirth and parenting are available for new parents or as refresher courses through our Childbirth Education Classes. Call 636.928.WELL (636.928.9355) or toll-free 800.392.0936 for a current list of class offerings and to register.
- Breastfeeding Basics
- Childbirth one-day or four-week course
This course is designed to prepare you for the birth of your baby. Topics include the physical and emotional changes of pregnancy, labor and birth, role of the support person, breathing and relaxation techniques, hospital procedures, Caesarean birth, medications and baby care.
- Kids Class
This class is recommended for kids ages 3-9 and focuses on the special relationship that siblings have with their new baby. Newborn behaviors and care, along with feelings about the baby, are discussed. One parent needs to attend with the child. It includes a tour of Suite Beginnings.
- Infant and Child CPR/Choking
This class is for expectant and new parents who wish to learn CPR for infants and children.
